The Hallelujah Flight by Phil Bildner

Last year, I read The Hallelujah Flight.  It is a non-fiction story, about James Banning.  He was the first African American to fly across America.

After I learned about him, I made a poster for school.  It showed information about James Banning.  We drew the map of where he flew.

After my mom shared my picture on Twitter, I got an email from the author.  The email said:
Hey Ben...
I saw your social studies project. That was great! I'm so glad you liked my book.  I had a blast writing it.  I learned a lot too.
Keep on reading and enjoying good books!
Peace, always,
Phil
It was really cool getting an email from the author.
